Governor adds some funds for High Speed Rail in revised 2007/08 budget
Ok, the May revision of the governor’s budget for 2007-08 is out: Governor’s Revised Budget - 2665 High-Speed Rail Authority
It looks like the High-Speed Rail Authority now gets $5.194 million instead of just $1.159 million as in the original budget proposal. Although when I look at that page linked above, the information seems a bit confusing. Further down, you can also see the number $1.694 million…
Now this still is not a whole lot - I’m hoping the legislature will add some more funding here.
CORRECTION: Governor provides ZERO additional funding for High Speed Rail in revised 2007/08 budget.
In somewhat related news, there is this document here: Planned Proposition 1B Implementation - which seems to indicate that the Proposition 1B money for (conventional) intercity rail is now in the budget for next year - which means that they will probably be able to order those desperately needed cars and locomotives.
