California High Speed Rail Buzz

Lot’s of talk these days on the web about California High Speed Rail. Probably prompted by the reluctance of our governor to support it and by the fact that the Convention of the California Democratic Party approved a resolution pushing the project forward. Well, the real test of that will be in the forthcoming budget deliberations in the legislature - there, we will see whether the Democrats really support it and push through full funding of the CHSR Authority for the next fiscal year.

Some selected articles/blog posts:

Also, for all you advocates out there, it looks like a critical hearing will take place next Thursday, May 10th, the Senate Budget Subcommittee No. 4 will be holding a hearing to discuss the California High Speed Rail Authority’s budget - the hearing will be held (tentatively) at 10am in Room 112. If you can, go over there and make yourself heard!
