Senate approves Passenger Rail Investment and Improvement Act

The U.S. Senate has just approved the Passenger Rail Investment and Improvement Act. This is good news for Amtrak.

Side note: as a taxpayer, I’m a bit concerned about this practice of attaching bills to other bills - that way, certain pieces of law often get passed with little discussion. This sounds kind of sneaky and I wonder if everybody always knows what exactly they’re doing there …
